A performance for solo movement artist and audience

Developed over two years, An Exercise in Entertainment, grew out of research into the history of the American industrial entertainment complex. Redgrave draws on the vaudeville format to reflect on his position and the history of his own desire to perform.

The piece has nine acts that culminate in an invitation to the audience in the form of a gift, a book that contains a set of poems and instructions to a movement choir score that makes the finale.

(This project is currently on hold due to safety in pandemic times.)
